Since the adoption of the policy, some progress has been observed in minimizing the caseload resulting because of diseases that predominantly affect disadvantaged or vulnerable sections of the community. Realizing the prevailing gap on different fronts of the global strategy, the World Health Organization has authorized an external agency to perform a holistic and exhaustive evaluation of the implementation of different aspects. To conclude, the health sector has many shortcomings in the area of improving the health indicators of the masses, and it becomes even more important in cases of developing nations. Owing to the presence of numerous public health challenges in the region, it is extremely important to prioritize the issues and deal with them in a systematic manner to improve the quality of life of the general population.
